Dry Rot

The dry rot in this Ulverston bed and breakfast got so bad after being ignored for too long. It spread from the first floor joists to the second floor joists in a bedroom and along a corridor.

Plaster was removed from all external walls, timber stud work was removed, the ceiling was removed, floor boards removed and joists replaced. The brickwork was so badly infected it had to be drilled and injected with Sovaq to ensure the dry rot did not return. All timber was treated and the walls tanked to ensure penetrating damp could not cause this costly work again.
